Serving as the head of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), Musk operated as a special government employee, a designation that bypassed Senate confirmation processes. Investigators categorized these actions into 15 areas, ranging from the use of official state resources to promote private products—such as displaying Tesla vehicles on the White House lawn—to direct interference in foreign policy.
